ALLBLACK’s TY4FWM Documentary is an important piece to me for a variety of reason. I was tasked with the responsibility of marking the debut of an enigmatic artist, from my hometown, who’s poised to make a grand statement on a national level. I was able to use a local crew composed of some of the most talented people I know, and ultimately we had the opportunity to bring the story of a uniquely Oakland community to the world. Upon release the film was heavily supported by the city, and also the greater West Coast artist community, and the screening event featured a panel moderated by Logan Murdock of the Ringer.
